I will stamp all over 'serious combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be shown in real-time on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the pair came face-to-face to publicize next month's bout.

Former two time unified boxing king Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami venue on 19 December.

Boxer's Mindset

"I will damage his features and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I'm going to seriously aim to injure him. That's what I want to do."

Civil Exchange

In spite of such comments, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally famous for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul rather criticized former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "ridiculous" after Ngannou declined a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, criticized British opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is better than Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Opponent

Despite stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he said.

Paul's Background

Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He lost to British fighter Fury in last year.

Financial Success

Nevertheless, the novice continues to be one of the sport's greatest financial successes, consistently making huge earnings.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in rounds four or five and stated he would prevent the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.

Physical Difference

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the traditional confrontation, with their size difference evident, it highlighted just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is truly happening.
